We have that f+gf+g is differentiable at 00 when f(x)=xf(x)=|x| and g(x)=xg(x)=-|x|. But neither f(x)f(x) nor g(x)g(x) is differentiable at 00.

Moreover if both fgf-g and ff are differentiable at aa, then gg is differentiable at aa if f(a)0f(a)\ne0.
