We have that f+gf+gf+g is differentiable at 000 when f(x)=∣x∣f(x)=|x|f(x)=∣x∣ and g(x)=−∣x∣g(x)=-|x|g(x)=−∣x∣. But neither f(x)f(x)f(x) nor g(x)g(x)g(x) is differentiable at 000.
Moreover if both f−gf-gf−g and fff are differentiable at aaa, then ggg is differentiable at aaa if f(a)≠0f(a)\ne0f(a)=0.
